21 DAY CHALLENGE - THROUGH THE HOLIDAY'S

Recognizing and Identifying Lies - Friends & Family

"Hatred stirreth up strifes: but LOVE covereth all sins." Proverbs 10:12

When we think about "The Holidays" we tend to have varied images come to mind.  Depending on our exposure to this time of year we may have positive or negative feelings about it altogether.

When we feed our mind images of unrealistic expectations, we may develop a positive...even "warm and fuzzy"  mindset regarding all the festivities and gatherings happening around us.

Sadly, this usually sets us up for disappointment when life happens and our greatest intentions are dashed due to circumstances out of our control.

On the other hand, if we tend to have negative experiences surrounding the last couple months of the year, whether it be loss, lack or any other barrier to the traditional "joy" of the holidays, we tend to approach the coming weeks with anxiety and the expectation of hurt and pain.

Our loving Father wants us to have a real and peaceful time of celebrating a time of the year that is supposed to put Jesus in the front of our minds and the HOPE he brings with Him.

Not only have it on our minds but to share that with those we are blessed to spend time with.

One way we can change our thoughts about celebrating the holidays is to help us think the best about our family and friends.  We all probably have some that we don't exactly feel comfortable around.  Instead of expecting to encounter negative vibes, we can go and confidently promote God's Truth shared with us in Philippians 4:8 about our friends and family!  But how do we turn this around?

Think About It:

1. Visualize how different this year could go if you were the one to be positive?

2. Who can you begin to reach out to beforehand and begin paving the way to a better gathering?

3. Who can you comfort this year, someone whom you know may have had a tough year?

21 Day Challenge

Let's choose one person and fill out the Think on Model for this person.  Spend time reading this and praying over this person daily.  Ask Holy Spirit to help you with this, so that you can see them with the eyes of our loving Father.  the same one who loves and changes your heart!
